Fifty thousand visitors came to the Sea Otter Europe cycling festival in Girona. Lance Armstrong lived there and planted the seed. Since then, a big cycling tourism business has developed an industry that includes Bed & Bike hotels, themed restaurants, technical clothing. Tourist agencies are already moving stays and routes.Some of these hotels are spread throughout the province, with outstanding places for cycle tourism such as the Pyrenees or the Costa Brava, with chains such as Guitart in Lloret de Mar.There are dozens of bars and restaurants that specialize in the world of cycling, such as La Fàbrica, owned by the Canadians Christian (professional cyclist) and Amber Meier, or Federal Café, owned by the Australian ex-racer Rory Sutherland. And shops, as well as clothing companies such as Chapter Tree, owned by ex-professional David Millar, another adopted son.
